Universal Studios Florida, the first theme park at Universal Orlando Resort, officially opened on June 7, 1990. Since then, the resort has expanded to include Islands of Adventure (1999), Volcano Bay (2017), and its newest park, Epic Universe, which opened in May 2025.
The Grinch makes his appearance at Universal Orlando Resort during the Grinchmas event, which takes place from late November through December. You can meet the Grinch and his dog, Max, in Seuss Landing at Islands of Adventure, and also enjoy them in the live Grinchmas Who-liday Spectacular show

At Universal Studios Florida, Revenge of the Mummy will be closed January 15–21, 2026, Hogwarts Express from February 9–23, 2026, and Finnegan’s Bar & Grill beginning January 12, 2026 through winter. At Islands of Adventure, Jurassic Park River Adventure will be closed from January 5 through November 19, 2026, with Hogwarts Express also closed February 9–23, 2026.
Universal Volcano Bay will see refurbishments to Honu and ika Moana from November 3–December 18, 2025, along with seasonal closures during fall and winter. A longer seasonal closure begins October 26, 2026, with a planned reopening by March 24, 2027. Universal Epic Universe currently has no announced refurbishments.
